The Physical Button: Show Physical Mode
The Physical button in the View Menu, and the View
menu of sub-windows, available only when the window is displaying
electrical mode, changes the display from electrical (schematic) mode
to physical mode. In the main menu, this places Xic into an
editing mode appropriate for physical representation. In the
sub-windows, the Physical button changes the view only. Editing
can not be performed in a sub-window whose mode is not that of the main
window.
While in a Push (see 9.1), the cell currently being
edited remains the current cell, but becomes top-level (i.e., not in
a Push) in the new mode. If the original mode is returned to
without editing a different cell, the Push stack is retained.
If a new cell is edited in the new mode, through a Push or
otherwise, the original Push context is lost. This context is
also lost if the Clear function in the Cells Listing is
invoked.
The present display mode can be made immutable, with certain
side-effects, by setting the variable LockMode.
